Saint Louis, MO, July 26, 2018

In today’s digital world, cities are on the prowl looking to attract and retain data oriented business, create high value jobs while delivering an inclusive community experience.

For cities and municipalities to realize the greatest economic development benefits of the digital revolution, it is essential that your city or municipality be prepared with the right strategy, a 5G, small cell, public Wi-Fi and IoT business plan, integrated with an inclusive Smart City economic development plan. Together, an inclusive and integrated technical and economic development plan is a Force Multiplier, developing greater economic development potential while delivering multiple revenue streams from day one.

The pace of change has accelerated. Time is of the essence.

Recently at the Gigabit City Summit in Kansas City, iNeighborhoods offered a promotional Force Multiplier Readiness Assessment at no cost to the City that had the “right stuff” to build an inclusive digital community and the right kind of team to realize sustainable economic development gains.

David Sandel, founder of iNeighborhoods said, “we met with a number of cities at the City Partnership Workshop. We were looking for a city that had an experienced team, existing infrastructure and had the vision and passion to deliver a superior digital experience to their community. I was impressed with their team and their potential as an inclusive Force Multiplier community”.

Furthermore, Aaron Deacon Managing Director of KC Digital Drive and the Gigabit City Summit added, “the purpose of the City Partnership Workshop was to build relationships between city leaders and people who might help them realize their visions for the future in a time of rapid technological change. Winter Haven has been an active part of the Gigabit City Summit community for three years now, and we are excited to see iNeighborhoods step up to offer this type of support.”

The City of Winter Haven strives to utilize fiber infrastructure and smart technology to facilitate data driven decision making, improve efficiencies, and stimulate economic development.  The City has been utilizing a dig once policy for approximately 15 years to buildout a fiber network, primarily in the downtown core area.  The City recently partnered with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to more than double the City’s fiber footprint, taking advantage of the opportunity to install City owned conduit and fiber during a major FDOT roadway project.  The City of Winter Haven Economic Development Corporation has recently partnered with Florida Polytechnic University to sponsor and facilitate a student project that identified the top ten smart community technologies that would be most beneficial to implement within the City.  Additionally, the City hopes to position itself to take advantage of emerging technologies such as 5G to most effectively deliver quality services to its residents, businesses, and visitors.
