SAINT LOUIS, MO, October 31, 2017– On the morning of Monday December 4, 2017, the “Building the Smart City” workshop will be hosted to discuss how the Delmar Loop and Forest Park’s Art Hill can become “inclusive, intelligent and interconnected” Smart City neighborhoods.

Attendees will discuss what being a Smart City would mean for the Delmar Loop, Art Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods. Educational programs, digital technologies, public safety, Internet of Things, entrepreneurial opportunities, job creation and workforce development, and economic investment into the area will all be explored.

“Other North American cities are already moving on a path to use high-speed connectivity to create new business opportunities, drive economic development, and build brighter, more livable futures for their citizens”, says Nathan Schrenk, President of the St. Louis Regional Internet Exchange. The invaluable feedback received from attendees at the workshop will be utilized to create the inclusive Smart City Playbook for the Delmar Loop neighborhood and Forest Park Art Hill.

David Sandel, co-founder of iNeighborhoods.us says, “we are inviting leaders, businesses, residents and students from across the business, civic, creative and cultural landscape of the Delmar Loop area and the St. Louis region. We need your experience, perspective, and ideas as we develop the long-term strategies, short-term tactics, and concrete projects that will make up the Smart City Playbook and next steps to move forward”.

The workshop will be held at the Dennis and Judith Jones Visitor & Education Center – in the Trolley Room, 5595 Grand Drive in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.
